StepStream FIH - Financial Integration Hub

StepStream FIH is an integration solution especially created for use within the financial industry. It is derived from StepStream IS and enriched with financial business related knowledge.

Overview
An Application Integration (AI) system for the financial industry should - in addition to technical features - especially provide business functionality to the user. StepStream FIH supports data transfer of financial products and information. It is therefore particularly suited to institutional investors such as banks, insurers or the finance departments of industrial and trade organisations.

Business Functionality

StepStream FIH provides a Financial Repository containing:

• Business system dependent and independent formats
• Transformations rules

Users can apply or extend the available format descriptions and mapping rules for financial products such as prices, standing data, transactions, etc. Further on

• Defined error and correction processes

are available, which support notification and correction in a record based way.

Financial Adapters

Financial Adapters implement together with the data structures and mapping rules in StepStream FIH's Financial Repository the business logic. They usually work on top or in conjunction with Technical Adapters and maintain a system-similar representation of the business data as far as possible.

Financial Adapters are either adapters from well known systems (System Adapters) or adapters to proprietary datafeeds of data suppliers (Supplier Adapters). They import or export data to financial business systems, and differ from technical adapters or APIs by:

• Defined business data structures and data types
• Business logic
• Mappings to StepStream's Financial Repository
